Superstorm Sandy – Lessons Learned for the Water Industry

Presented by the New Jersey American Water Works Association
and the New Jersey Water Association

Seminar Description:

Superstorm Sandy made landfall in New Jersey on Oct 29, 2012.  The impact of Sandy, and the snowstorm that followed, created a statewide emergency that was unprecedented in New Jersey.  Many water systems were inundated with salt water, infrastructure was damaged, and electric service was lost in many communities.  Generators failed in some systems, and many other water systems suffered from critical fuel shortages.   At this seminar, attendees can hear from presenters who were intimately involved in the response to Sandy.  Water utility personnel, industry representatives and regulators who were involved during the emergency – and who are involved in the recovery – will share their experiences and will discuss the actions that will be taken in order for the water industry to be prepared for future events.

The fee is $20.00  for this TCH accredited course.
